CommentsYour pictures are amazing. I will show them to my 9&10 year old girl scouts. We are learning about the Philippines for our GS unit's "world thinking day." I would like to print a few of them out on an ink jet to put on our poster for thinking day. I will give you credit for your photo's and will not make more than one copy. I hope this is okay. We will not be making any money or selling anything.

Commentshello- i saw a post about me and someone mentioned aunt Sue- well that is my Aunt also ( I think it is the same person at least ) - My mothers name is Nancy Blood and that is her sister Sue, and brother Billy ( really crazy guy ) and brother Ben- she has another sister Peggy- most live in Burlington Vermont- and one lives in Florida- I found more info about the Carling Family- they were all born in Canada- providince of Sascathuan-( hope I spelled that right) and migrated to NJ in the 1900's- That's where my Grandfather George F Carling Sr. Met my Grandmother Matilda Visser- Grandma's father was big in the dairy business- But she was banished from home after her and my Grandfather eloped in the summer of 1920 in Passaic NJ. My Dad had a sister named Susan but she passed away in the late 1970's- Sue did have one Son that I know of- he is probably in his 50's now and was last living in Pennsylvania with his father- My Father just turned 70 in January 2007. if any of this rings a bell please call me - 303-946-3823

CommentsHi! I enjoyed all the photos, so much! I've known Linda since we were in LPN school at Hinsdale way back in 1972! I remember so many things we did together with our kids, and how much fun we had... I can't believe she's a grandma now. Well, it was just a matter of time. My email address: ewald_patrice@yahoo.com. Please tell everyone I said hello. I haven't been in contact w/Linda since Jake died. How is she doing? Again, I enjoyed all the photos. You've done a nice job putting it all together. And, congrats on your little fellow! Patty Ewald Brown

CommentsI googled a Milton Bain and was directed to this website. I am trying to locate a Milton Bain that would have been married to an Elizabeth Louise Petersen in the Michigan/Ohio area in the late 1950's. Elizabeth Louise (or Betty Lou) passed away in approx. 1957/58 and left 5 children. These children would be my first cousins and I would love to make contact with them. If this doesn't apply, I apologize for the inconvenience.
Reply by: Elisha
Dear Julie
Thank you for visiting my site. I have located in our family tree who I believe
may be 4 of the 5 cousins whom you were speaking of. Sally Bain, Jill Ray Bain, Jackline Kay Bain, and Jodie Sue Bain. I think you may have more information on
both Milton Bain and Elizabeth Louise Petersen than I do. I have her listed as
Betty Peterson wife of Milton Bain, but have no further information for her. I
do have contact with some of the Bain family members and would be happy to put
you in touch with them. If you read this please go to my Contact Me page, or you
can leave another post here with your contact details
if you want others to be able to find and contact you.

you might also want to know that the house in your picture, was also in a movie
starring jane seymor called through hazel eyes, about hazel brand. it has had
many owners in the past 10 to 15 years, no one seems to want to take an effort
to restore, also there was recently a rumor to be on the market for @18,000 to
20,000 something if bought and moved, it should be held for historical purpose
of grand past.

I admire your journal of activities entailing your R&R, particularly at the
Philippine island of Leyte. I am from Southern Leyte, specifically born and
raised in Maasin City. Finished college in Cebu City. My last inter-service
deployment to the Middle Eastern region (via Diego Garcia) was in November 1981
under "Bright Star 82" mission. It was interesting at that time when Somalia
still had their own form of government. Our C-5A transport aircraft stopped over
Diego Garcia, then proceeded to Cairo on a transient stop. Our final destination
was sensitive. We were successful in the accomplishment of our assigned
missions. From one veteran to another, I thank you for serving our country. BTW,
I also like your personal convictions. Take care....
