| Yes it has been a while since I last updated this page. But
as I was on vacation for a good portion of the months of September and October I
am letting myself off with that excuse. But as I actually did take some pictures
before I went on vacation I have finally gotten around to posting them, and so
here are the latest additions as of today.

grandfather Bush’s slides they are located here
Kenneth Bush's Pictures. I am still
working on getting all the pictures from my vacation on my computer. For those
of you that don’t know I use a film camera not a digital and the local photo
shop is too antiquated to even consider having the ability to put pictures on
disk. So with that said its still going to be a little while before I get those
out. |

| Well I finally have my film scanner back and I am very
happy about it, I can now get to scanning some of these pictures. If you have
been watching this page you may have noticed that I have added a few pages
recently, and if you haven't been watching this page, then the ones I have added
since getting my scanner back are.

page to places I have been titled Singapore. A few
of these pages will continue to get updated with new pictures as I scan them,
most likely the pages to do with Singapore as I have a lot of film to scan but
only want to put the better pictures forward. |

| Got my film scanner in
the mail today, and will be mailing it back in for repair
again tomorrow. I was quite excited when I got a note from the post
office telling me I needed to come pick up and sign for a package
from Nikon. So I not so patiently waited for the post office to
open. Rushed over as soon as they were and picked my package up,
walked on back to my room. All the while in great anticipation of
hooking my scanner back up to my computer and scanning my slides and
film and getting my first real look at many of my recently
taken pictures. It was not to happen though. as I was on my way back
to my room I noticed that the contents of the box seemed a bit loose
and not packed so well. that was my first indication that all may
not be well, but ever hopeful I pushed the thought aside. happily
back in my room I opened the box and not so much to my surprise at
this point the film scanner had been packaged rather poorly allowing
it to be bounced around inside the box. Well 'I think to myself' so
long as it works what do I care what box or packaging it arrived in,
its still all ok. Then I took the film scanner out of the double
layer of bubble wrap (not nearly enough for something as sensitive
as a film scanner) only to hear little tinking sounds inside the metal case. Ok starting to have serious concerns about
it working now, but I still have some hope left Ill just plug it into the
computer and see what happens. Turn it on, the little light comes on indication
that the power is on, flashes a couple of times during its self test and then
stays on solid. so far so good I guess. Next plug it into the computer and try
to scan a picture. Plug it in, the computer happily recognizes the scanner and tells me that it is now ready to work. Oh good I think, I am ready for it to
work too. Then I tried to scan a picture. That didn't go so well, all that I got
from the scanner was a message telling me that it needs to be turned into Nikon
for repair. Somehow I believe it. Needless to say Nikon has received a less than
cordial letter from me describing my level of satisfaction with there service.
Much to Nikons own credit I did receive a email back in about an hour asking me
to send it back in, and telling me that they would reimburse me for all the
shipping costs. I would prefer to have it here and working but baring that, and
I have no choice in that matter it seemed like the reasonable thing for them to
do. So I suppose that I get to wait for another month or two. |

| Well if it seems as though I
haven't updated this page in a while its because I haven't. No I
haven't stopped taking pictures, and yes I still have access to the
internet, and no I haven't died, and no its not because I have been
more lazy than usual. all those things aside there is a reason for
it not being updated with more pictures. I have been taking pictures
I have pictures that I need to post here from as far back as
December 2004, and some more recent. but I haven't been unable to
because my film scanner is broken. I have turned it in over a month
ago now and am still waiting for the Nikon Service Center to repair
it and send it back. |
