It turns out that there really
isn't as much to take pictures of in the lagoon as one might think,
not at least above water at and before sunrise. Ships, clouds and
water by enlarge, I
have about seventy pictures of them now but didn't think you would
be interested in seeing them all being as they get repetitive
and its the same seven or so ships, mostly all cargo ships as well.
Instead I elected as usual to pick out the ones that I think look
best or at least are interesting. The first few splashes of color
show themselves around 6:00am and by 6:30 the sunrise it ebbing
toward its end. This day the rain clouds extended the colors in the
sky until the sun was well above the horizon, and then burst through
the clouds in a torrent of heat and light; heat mostly though as it
was already pretty bright, being about 9:00 in the morning. With the
sun now beating down on me and no more rain clouds to defend against
it I headed back home to call it a day. From seeing this sunrise and
the sunrise from the
12th
its rather obvious that the weather affects the light differently on
different days, today had much more yellows and oranges, whereas the
12th had darker blues and blue-greens and the light seemed to
emanate from the water more. Today the water was darker and more
relative. I did however manage to find a hole in the sky on both
days though this one wasn't as willing to hover over one of the
islands as the hole in the sky did on the 12th. While I have quite
enjoyed taking these pictures I have discovered that there is a
slight downfall to sunrise pictures. It turns out that you
have to get up quit early to catch a sunrise. And because its hot
and humid out you have to get up early enough to warm your camera up
so it doesn't fog up when you change lenses or take it out of the
case to take a picture. Despite this little hiccup I think that I
shall have to try it again a few more times before I leave this
place. |
