| 11-13 January 2005. Ah winter, what a beautiful
season, but man is it cold. These pictures were all taken with my digital
camera, mostly because I either forgot to take my real camera, or I forgot to
take film or it was the only one convenient to carry around in my coat pocket.
Oh well at least I got some pictures. This first picture is of my Uncle Dale's
property up in northern Michigan. if you look off to the left you will see his
car garage, called by him a barn, if you look off to the far right you will see
his house, please note which one is lager and determine for yourself his
priorities. The next five pictures are of the surrounding area which he took me
on a tour of, showing me where he and his sun used to and occasionally still do
go dirt-biking, of course they didn't go dirt-biking in the water that's just
what I took pictures of. The next three pictures starting with the sheep and
going to the foggy road are at my Aunt Darlene's house where she has a couple of
pastures fenced off and a barn set up so she can board horses as well as
she owns a few of her own, and one friendly sheep named Zelda. The last two
pictures are from My Aunt June and Uncle Lowell's house. The first picture was
taken early in the morning (ok early for me), it had snowed most of the previous
night and there had been little wind so all the hardwood trees still had
snow clinging to the tops of there branches. The light from the sun was
reflecting off the trees in such a way that it made them look like an ice
forest, it was a truly inspiring sight. So I took out the lousiest camera I own,
also the only one I had with me and took a picture hoping it would turn out
well. I didn't quite capture what I was going for, but I think it turned our
good anyways. the last picture was taken later that day as the snow had started
to melt rather quickly and my ice forest quickly turned into a normal winter
forest. |
